We build a meditation practice, not to live better lives, but to live our lives better.
What if striving to make our lives (income, stuff, bodies, accomplishments) better is making things worse? Would you like to explore new ways to become more present to your experience, and more balanced in your life?
Buddha shared the insight that suffering is caused by our very attempts to make things better. Lucky for us, he also taught ways to recognize and address the source of the problem.
Develop a meditation practice that can help you cultivate the awareness and compassion to become more present to your life as it is. Each class will include teaching, practice, questions and discussion, designed to help the beginner as well as experienced meditators develop a practical, personalized approach.
Come prepared to learn, to try new things, and to share your experience. Come to reconnect with your existing practice, or start fresh. You may sit on the floor (cushions provided) or on a chair, your choice.
The class will be held at Tai Chi & Meditation Centre at 320 Broadview Avenue, just steps south of Gerrard St. TTC to Broadview Station and bring the streetcar south to Gerrard. Parking is available on neighbourhood streets nearby.
